Future Assured held an RMNCAH+N Stakeholders meeting on Monday, 9th October, 2017 with the theme “Building Alliance for RMNCAH+N”

The Founder of Future assured, Her Excellency Mrs. Aisha Buhari led the team of governors’ wives to make commitment towards being champions for the improvement of Reproductive Maternal Newborn Child and Adolescent Health and Nutrition in Nigeria. This commitment was done at the RMNCAH+N stakeholders Meeting in Abuja where the Governors Wives advocacy coalition (GWAC) was established.


The event also had in attendance the wife of the Vice President, Wives of Governors, Honourable Minister of Health, National Primary Health Care Development Agency, National Orientation Agency, other Government stakeholders, International development partners and Non-governmental Organisations, some of who made presentations during the event.

The meeting was strategic in its engagement to achieve the clearly spelt out objectives.

  • An overview of the RMNCAH+N Situation in the country was discussed by key speakers including the Honourable Minister of health. The roles of the Governors’ wives in improving the situation were highlighted.
  • Future Assured presented its strategies for RMNCAH+N Advocacy
  • Her Excellency, Mrs. Aisha Buhari sets up Governors wives advocacy coalition, reaffirms her commitment and called for Support from key stakeholders towards the improvement of RMNCAH+N outcomes in the country.
  • Wives of the Governors declared their commitments to champion the cause in their various states



  • Bill& Melinda Gates Foundation, UN Agencies, National Orientation Agency amongst others pledged their commitment to support the Governors’ Wives Advocacy Coalition in their advocacy efforts towards improving the RMNCAH+N indices of their various states and the country.
  • The Ministry of Budget and Planning also had an investiture for the Wives of the Governors as Champions for Nutrition

This event charts a new course for the fight against maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent mortalities in the country with a renewed commitment by people who have the power to influence change in this quarters.  It is expected that activities at the state level will reflect this vision towards having a healthier family life for all Nigerians.
